so, im wondering (Case if your listening) if the air deflector under the front of the car moves to delfect more air up while the car is in motion..... what happens you put one of those front skirt spoilers on the front of your car (the kind you get from ecklers and the like) is the air deflector still operational? most of them only have a small opening at the front under the licence plate.
just wondering |

It doesnt really move to deflect more air, its more so cause its flexy and has no support behind it on the earlier models, some later ones do though.
The thing with the add on body kit pieces is they dont normally go as low as the black spoiler, and they are also a good distance infront of it too, so the effect is not much at all. |

Ahh, i see what you where getting at before with the whole licence plate location thing
do those spoilers require drilling into the body work or are they some sorta clip on? |

Depends on the sort mate, some pieces are bonded, others are attached with fasteners, ive never really had anything to do with add on body kits. |

ok
well i went and had a look at this car the other day, (not for buying, im not a fan of the look) i had a good a look under as i could, but didnt seem the air deflecter would get much air
http://allamerican.carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedCarID=2301504&TabID=86326&Alias=allamericanau
the car just got me wondering about things.
i was supprised that it looked a little better in the flesh (but not much)
apparently this car is a gm certified promotional car for 'stealth' to have a go at back in the 80's. i dont doubt the guy selling it, but you reckon there'd be anyway to certify it being a promo car?? |

Promo car or not mate, its just an 89 Corvette with a horrid looking body kit and below average paint job. It sure as hell aint worth anything extra, id be taking the cost to return it to stock off the price tag.
It would get enough air flow, cause there is vents in the front lower section of the spoiler, and it will also be a good 2 or 3 feet infront of the factory spoiler.
At the end of the day, that spoiler isnt going to pose a threat to going through the A/C condensor core from hitting a small animal |
